Next session: 3/12/09 6:00 P.M. Howard Lake
Race against time to defeat Lord Kalorel and stop his evil plot.
Sorry about the name screw up Trevor.
This week probably won’t work since its already wednesday and I am heading to Duluth tomorrow afternoon. I will talk with Rhino and J-Dog about setting a date for next week. Talk to G-unit when you can see what works best for him as well.
To a point, I would agree with you. However, there are roles that need to be filled. If a character doesn’t have the capability to fill the role, then the entire group suffers.
I also think four is a good size. One person to fill each role, and there’s no pissing contests.
Having a game in Hutch would be harder for me to do, but I would still be up for it. There can’t be any last minute reschedules or anything like that. If 3M is burning to the ground and a cloud of fluorine gas from HTI is creeping over the town, we still play. That’s how it would have to be.
Well Paul, I don’t know if Graham could make it to Hutchinson, but I’ll ask him next time I see him.
Would Grant or you come to Hutch to play as a change on scenery?
Its not about having the best group build. Its about playing what you want and planning strategy around it, I think thats alot more fun.
I do agree that adding a 5th person would have increased the groups power but IMHO a 4 man group is the ideal size for an effective roleplay experience.
When do we want to get togather to discuss our next steps?
New theory: Things were hard because we didn’t have enough dpr. The warlock was a terrible choice as the group’s only striker, and that’s my bad. I’ve been looking at the other classes, and I’ve put together some characters that would put my warlock to shame. Absolute shame. Take that and add another character to our four-player group, and we would have been a bit more functional.
No, the dice is Big Sexy. Avenger is one of the new classes from PHB2.
Avenger? Is that the dice you think brings you good luck? But yeah, DM’s on Thurs for 3.5.
We should also take some time to discuss the future of 4.0 that evening as well.
I think a lot of the problem lies within the module, not the ruleset. I would definitely vote against starting another 3.5.
The more I think about it, the module kinda sucked. It really did. Could it have been any more vanilla? It was pretty flavorless. The coolest parts in there were the little things you made up Pete.
I think some house rules would be a good thing. I’ll make a “Proposed House Rules” page or something for everyone to put up some ideas.
I am not sure if I want to do. 4.0, it seems way to “care-bear” for me. There is little to no risk of dieing and I don’t think I like that. Even if through some slim chance a character does actually die there is no punishment for it, its like you get to hit the reset button. Don’t get me wrong, I like the new character creation system and the smoothed out combat, but its just no fun if there is no risk. Honestly I would opt for adding a few house rules to make things more dangerous and have some sort of punishment for actually dieing. But that’s just me, what do you guys want?
I’ll be game for playing again.. I’m not sure I’d be very good at DM. Anyone pick up the PBH2 yet? I’m really liking the Druid class.. might have to make a character just in case.
